Memories.
November 17th, 2003 | by john |For some reason unknown to me, today was one of the saddest days I’ve experienced at Tech when nothing really sad or negative happened. I woke up this morning feeling really tired – which is just weird so I decided to sleep a bit longer. I woke up in the afternoon with a dull tension in my head. Throughout the whole afternoon and night, this dull tension became a headache… that type of headache that I get when I do not get caffeine in my system before it’s too late.
I think it’s a migraine brought on by the lack of caffeine or something… it’s so weird. I remember having this since middle school – whenever my mom packed me juice or something for lunch, I’d come home with a bad headache that hurt when I moved my head any. However, when I drank a soda or something for lunch, no headache. I just realized this like a year or so ago – so apparently, I have an addiction to soda although I don’t remember drinking that much soda back in elementary school which is why I find it hard to believe this I can remember the cause of the headaches back in middle school.
Anyways – I just didn’t feel anything today – nor was I motivated to do anything today. Thank goodness that I didn’t have anything important due Monday (technically today)… I think a cold or flu or whatever is developing. I’m going to try to get to sleep early tonight before I get stressed this week. So an unproductive Sunday with regrets for not getting anything done.
Anyways, more pictures:
1) IB Tree – back at Myers Park High, we had a Tree devoted to the Class of 2001 IB Seniors. We called at “The Tree” – it was like our hanging out place for the IBers. We would know this tree and others would also recognize this tree as the “IB Tree” because we used to hang around the tree before classes, in between classes, during the three different lunch periods, and after school.
2) Butcher Paper v1.0 – So my freshmen section (Towers 3rd 2001-2002) created this thing called a butcher paper … we basically took a big piece of paper and taped it on the walls on our hall. Whenever we found something funny or someone said something interesting that would sound even more interesting out of the original context was put on the butcher paper.
3) Finals Week Spring 2002 – We are burning the Linear Algebra book by Dr. Carlen who is one of the infamous Calculus teachers at Tech. Carlen is an alumni of MIT and a very passionate yet crazy Calculus teacher. I’ve had the honor of having him as my professor in my very first semester – Calculus I – we spent about a month doing Deltas & Epsilon proofs… which I remember going over for like 5minutes in Methods I in my Sophomore year in High School. Surprising how little things like that from High School can haunt you years later. Thank you, Tech.
4) Spring Break 2003: Miami – A random picture of the Northern Miami beach and a random boat going across… I thought it was a cool picture. I will post more pictures from Miami later because I have a bunch of Miami pics that I have not shared yet.
5) Another Miami picture – this was taken from the Holiday Inn we were staying at in Norther Miami. The picture came out nice because I set the exposure of the came a little higher… you can see that the lights have an interesting blur and the headlights from cars on the roads being smudged because of the high exposure.
