Looking forward to the weekend…
October 14th, 2004 | by john |I know I have to work 2 12-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday but I have been looking forward to it since I got off this past Sunday’s 12-hour shift.
This school week sucked. From Monday to Thursday, we had papers due, labs to do, lab homeworks to do, homeworks to do, a quiz, and a test.
Let me explain what this really means:
The paper was due on Wednesday and I worked on it all tuesday night. Spent about 3+ hours in lab trying to get the material ready so I can write about it. Then, I spent the 8 hours after the lab time to write the paper. I finished most of it so I had to wake up early on Wednesday morning to get it done.
We had two homeworks due during lab time this week… this was done in about 7.5 hours on Monday night in the College of Computing building. We got out of the computer labs at some time between 3am to 4am.
Wednesday – we had the actual lab period for the week which took a little less than its intended 3 hours. At which time, had something quick to eat, and hit the library. From 8pm to 4am – we were studying like crazy.
Thursday – I had a quiz in an elective math class in the morning. The quiz wasn’t that bad that it just seems like the quiz always is scheduled at the same day as the test I was studying for the past night. At noon, I took the test. The class is usually 1.5 hours long but our professor thinks that we can pull out finishing the test within 60 minutes. I work through 3 out of 4 problems because I skipped one I didn’t fully understand… the three problems took me 50 minutes to do. Just as I was finishing up the 3rd question, I hear the professor say: “10 minutes left”.
Now in light of all that crap, I felt free after I got out of that class. This is why I’ve been looking forward to work during the weekend all week… that and I think I’m driving to Charlotte after work Sunday night.
