Weird Freakin’ Dream…

So just last night, I had a freaky dream…

It was vacation time for me and some people I knew; it could have been my family or my friends. Anyway, I was in Japan for some reason in a relatively high-rise building overlooking a mountain of some kind. The mountain had a snowcap so it must have been rather tall but I think it was far away because the mountain looked so small out of the window.

Anyway, the foundation of the building started shaking a little. Everyone in the office looked out the window, and we saw this giant shockwave of some kind coming toward us from far away. We were all on a floor where the entire outer wall of the building was glass so we could see clearly what was going on outside. It looked like a reactive wave from an explosion or bomb or something except it wasn’t fiery (I think it was more dusty and sandy)… imagine that something hit the Earth at a very high velocity, creating a giant wave from the center point of the impact on outward. This wave was huge and coming toward the building really fast from far away.

Everyone was in shock as to what they were witnessing… then we finally started to embrace for impact. I hit the ground and got myself under a desk and got in the “head down and cover your head with your hands” position as taught back in school in preparation of hurricanes. And for a split second that I braced for chaos to hit, I was thinking about how much impact this wave would have on the building’s structure because if the structure faltered in any way – there was no way for any one of us to survive in the building.

Then it happened, as the trembling of the building got more violent, the wave must have hit the building. We felt the final impact of the wave and it also broke the windows of the building. All I remember is hearing glasses shattering and falling on me – and I either woke up or moved onto another dream.

I hadn’t had much time to think about it since I was working most of the day but now that I think about it, I feel like I had a small glimpse of what the victims of 9/11 felt like… it was nothing but terrifying. Not only because I was completely helpless as to what would happen once the wave hit the building but because I was completely clueless as to what kind of event could have triggered such an event.
