Fry’s Electronics.

Went to Fry’s today to take a closer look at the laptop I’ve been scoping out for the past month: The Fujitsu Lifebook S6000 Series.

I’ve read nothing but positive reviews on the S6231 ever since I started to look for a laptop. I think I saw an older model of the same series at the first time I went to Fry’s, and it was impressive. I also looked at the Sony S260 but it’s a bit overpriced. As far as I know, I’ve already sort of made my decision on the Lifebook but wanted to check it out and inspect it more closely to see if I saw anything I didn’t like before the investment.

These Fujitsu Lifebooks aren’t just sold in any stores.. the only brick and mortar store that sold these around Atlanta was Fry’s Electronics. So I took the 20-30 minute drive up north of Atlanta to Fry’s and search for the whatever model of the S6000 series Lifebooks they had.

Aside from the fact that a loose tire fell from a trailer in front of me and I had to run over it like a big rubber band on I-85 (as far as I know, my car is okay), I got there and found that the model I saw first time around was all sold out and according to the Sales guy there, they are awaiting the newer models (I think they had the S6220 or S6210 or something like that before). So I just looked around every corner of Fry’s for about an hour before heading back (holy crap, Fry’s is huge, at least three times the size of a normal Best Buy).

As a side note, seems like a lot of out-of-state people come to Atlanta to visit Fry’s. I saw couple of people wearing Carolina sweaters and caps.

Anyway, today has been real chill holiday. Slept in, no classes, and no work. :)
