Worth typing about…

So I’ve been dreading today this entire week because I have a test today that will probably determine a general grade for this one particular class I’m taking. Yes, it’s one of those classes that I’m afraid of failing because it’ll delay my graduation if I fail it. I didn’t do particular well on the last test :( so I’ve been worried about this day ever since I got my last test back graded. Academic-esteem aside, bad grades just give a sour taste in your mouth and this kind of things gets to my head… it gets to my head so bad at times, it disturbs whatever concentration I can muster when I am studying. Amusingly, it’s a recursive loop – same sort of thing over and over again. Anyway…

As usual, I started the study session at the library. After a quick dinner, I went at around 7pm and intended to stay around until 4am. By 11:30pm, I was sort of sick of studying already and wanted a break. I came back to my room and tried to take a relaxation break. Originally, I intended to break for about an hour or so but it turned into two. By 1:30am, I hit the books again. Instead of going back to the library though I decided to study in the lounge of my apartment building which I’ve only done once this entire year. There are two lounges per floor, seeing as how I lived with a CA, my apartment was right smack in the middle of both. I was heading to the one on the left side but then I heard voices over there so thinking it would be a distraction I headed to the one on the right.

I have to admit that studying is not my forte (and have not been since I’ve been here). So I grudgingly opened the door to the lounge and turned the light on. Every lounge is a size of a regular dorm room: it has has a table, few chairs, and a white board on the wall. What particularly inspired me was what was written on the white board, there was this message:

Smile! :) Jesus Loves you!

At first, I kind of chuckled and put my bookbag down on the table and started to take out all my notes and books. But really, I just couldn’t get that message out of my mind. No matter how crazy this may sound… I feel that the message was put there to lift my spirits. Logic tells me that there was some kind of Bible study group that was there the night before or something like that… but I still couldn’t resist the thought that I was meant to come back from the library earlier than planned, to get something to eat, to go to that particular study lounge, and to read that message.

Anyway, if anyone knows who wrote that message on the white board, be sure to thank them for me because it definitely lifted my spirits there and I feel I’ve been more productive in my studies. :)
