In Friday, Nov 18th issue of the Technique, GT Vice Provost of the Undergraduate Studies and Academics Affairs Anderson Smith is quoted as stating the benefits of summer program changes at Georgia Tech: “Freshmen can come in and take a couple of courses and prepare themselves…”

All current and former Tech students can fill in those ellipsis with the truth; for example: “… for sleep deprivation from all-nighters, mental insanity after the first two weeks, etc.” And, we all know this is just Tech’s attempt to reduce the average number of years needed by undergraduate engineering students to graduate.

In the end, at least we know for sure Reggie Ball won’t be spiking the ball on third and throwing it away on fourth anymore. It’s just enough to put the ball up in the air on 1st & Goal when the games on the line.
