Summer Vacation 2004
This is a photo gallery of my summer trip to California, Nevada, and Oregon. The main reason why I went on this trip was to see a couple of friends I haven't seen in a while: Tony and Jordan. I organized this gallery by date and also by photographer. The folders with 's110' in its title was taken with my Canon S110; the folders with 's400' was taken by Chris with his Canon S400.

These are random pictures I took at Tony's hometown: Cerritos, California. I think it's about 30 minutes away from Los Angeles. A big thanks to Tony and his parents for dealing with Chris and I for a whole week. *ahem* Tony needs to give us Atlantians a visit sometime.

The photos I have taken at Santa Monica Pier. Since I've never been to the West Coast, Tony took us to Santa Monica Pier on the first day. It was a bit windy but there were people still fishing on the Pier. The pictures of the beach you see will be pictures from the tip of the Santa Monica Pier.

Chris took some pictures of me dunking my feet in the West Coast for the first time. I actually went a bit too far and I got my shorts a little wet. It dried fairly quickly though.

The vast number of pictures I took in Las Vegas. I spent about $80.00 gambling on slot machines... the last $40.00 of which I used to try to get back my first $20 I lost. Luckily for me, in a $1.25 slot machine in the Flamingo casino, I won $216 and change (there's a picture of it). I chickened out and stopped playing after winning that and wasting another $20 away. At least I came out of Vegas positive.

First few pictures are me trying out Chris's new S400 out in the hotel room. I think the rest of the pictures were from the final night of our stay in Vegas.

Since Tony knew I was sorta into photography, he took us to the Getty Museum located in Los Angeles, California. There were paintings, photographs, sculptures in the museum but I enjoyed the architecture far more than anything else. You will see some beautiful shots of this place (well, at least I think so) and also some shots of downtown Los Angeles.

I think my and Tony's interest in photography bored Chris a little bit but he took a few pictures while we were there.

This was the start of our vacation with Jordan. There were no pictures from 6/12/2004 because this was probably when Tony dropped us off at LAX and we got to Portland. Chris was delayed a little bit on his way to Portland but still arrived at PDX before it was dark. Anyway, Multnomah Falls is near Portland on an interstate. We had to hike little over a mile to get to the top of the fall.

These are just general pictures I took at Jordan's apartment. Since Jordan was still working during the week, Chris and I chilled in the apartment until the afternoon when Jordan got back from work. You can see Chris spent some time playing Final Fantasy XII (haha). Ben also visited as he was interning with Microsoft in Seattle, WA.

Jordan got back from work and took us for a drive. It happens that we were heading to Mount Hood. As you can see from the pictures, it was a bit chilly up there... and we were wearing t-shirts. You can also see pictures of the Timberline Lodge from Stephen King's movie called 'The Shining.'
Punch Bowl Falls: Oregon

When Ben visited from Seattle, Jordan decided to take us swimming in the Punch Bowl Falls. We get to this park and hiked for about 30 minutes or so and we got to Punch Bowl Falls. The place really looked like a giant punch bowl with approximately 15-foot waterfall at one end. One by one, all of us jumped into the chilly water (the temperature was hot but the area was shaded from the sun). I had a little incident where I couldn't get any grip on the huge log to climb back up (I also fell over the log trying to get back up and lost one of Jordan's sandals - oops!). Ben had to climb back down and help me to the dry part of the log. All I can say is... it was really cold.

These are the two pictures I took as I was departing LAX to head to Las Vegas for my flight to Portland.
